“Drawing for justice”: an initiative to stand against the criminalisation of migrants through art

This initiative is organised by various solidarity groups supporting refugees unjustly accused of smuggling: 50OutOfMany, Alma community space, LeaveNoOneBehind. We organise creative workshops, exhibitions, talks and more. The goal is to make the situation more visible through images, create spaces to discuss and learn about the phenomenon of criminalisation, and fundraise money to support migrants wrongly accused. The “drawing for justice” idea is open to being shared and used by other spaces and groups.

On Thursday 16th of October, from 19:00, we will launch the 1st “Drawing for justice” exhibition. We will present artworks of solidarity against the criminalisation of migrants. The artworks were made during workshops or sent to us through our open call. The exhibition will raise awareness and funds to cover legal fees and essential needs of migrants unjustly accused of smuggling.
